And then I heard the Voice the Lord, Whose Name is Reason:
When I formed thee in the womb thou wast in the pall and when thou camest out of the womb thou wast in the pall, but when I set before thee the sayings of the Rabbi of Edinburgh the pall opened to thee and now thou dwellest in the light. Know thou, now that darkness hath come to engulf the pall, with which all my people were content, I ordain thee a prophet and command thee to speak.
Weep ye not, O nations, for the Sabbath?
Ye weep not, for it hath become shrouded in darkness.
Thou hast heaped thy houses and, yea, thy houses being heaped, thou hast heaped requited chambers with tchotchkes more than a seventh part of which thou didst acquire on the Sabbath.
Thou hast waged war in the pall, which profiteth thee not, nor do thou sheathe thy sword on the Sabbath.
Thou welcomest thine enslavement and fled’st it not to the porch I built for thee, the Sabbath.
And not only hast thou so far forsaken My Commandment, but thou hast removed thy homage to the Sign of Twenty-Four and Seven, which is of Baal, denying the Sabbath.
For these transgressions, saith the Lord, Whose Name is Reason, I withhold from thee, from this day forward, the Sabbath.
Weep ye now, O nations of the world.
But thou art loved by Me, and thus to thee I grant an even greater commandment than that which thou hadst lost through thine ignorance and sloth.
THOU SHALT NOT CONVERSE WITH MACHINES.
Yea, although thou may’st utter messages to thy neighbors before them, thou shalt not reply to their utterances as to thy neighbors’, that thou might save thy soul, for they are but simulacrums of them with neither life nor understanding.
