Welcome to The Drapers Guild
Whatever your interests, whatever your temperament, whatever your mood, you are sure to find something here which will delight you, or engage you, or enrage you (if that is your cup of tea). Later, when you are tired of rushing around, seeing the sites, you may retire to our Library and lose yourself in one of the classic works available there.
To Delight You
Just about anything in the Drapers Guild Arts Center is sure to delight the connoisseur, whether your tastes run to music, cinema or visual art. Move the cursor to the Arts Center and you will be presented with paths to our cinémathèque, our music hall, and our art gallery.
The Cinémathèque presents important works of auteur cinema, each introduced with a short essay by our erudite resident film scholar, Mijn Kleine-Oogspionnen. One of the more popular films in the Cinémathèque is Ungar’s Sand Dance, although more serious afficionados might prefer Piendente’s adaptation of Lorca’s De la Madre Mala.
The Syndics Music Hall primarily is devoted to selections from Albicocca’s opera, La Madre Pazzo, based on the Argonauts myth. (Recommended for mature audiences, only.)
Although our art gallery, The Syndics Masterpieces Collection, presently houses only a small collection of works, a short scroll through its precincts is sure to delight even the most jaded museum-goer.

To Engage You
Visitors eager to expand their experiential horizons will find plenty of stimulation in the Guild’s Blah Blah Blague. (Find it by moving the cursor to De Blaguen, which will point you to paths to both the Blah Blah Blague and the Bah Bah Blague.) Especially recommended for newcomers are Internet Odyssey, Satori a la Satie, Too Much Information and Puppy and Luke’s Big Adventure.
To Enrage You
Unlike other destinations, The Drapers Guild is sensitive to the needs of the tourist who enjoys disparaging whatever he sees. We are quite happy to provide him with the opportunity to bolster his own opinions by finding fault with ours.
While most of these controversial proposals can be found in the Guild’s Bah Bah Blague (for example, Boom, Two Heroes and A Modest Proposal: The Palestinian Question), other exasperating observations can be found in the Blah Blah Blague (Huxley on Equality, for example) and in the Guild’s community service initiative, Lunacy Outreach. (Even our use of the masculine option for the indefinite 3rd person personal pronoun – see above – might elicit a frisson of annoyance among our more sensitive visitors.)
